The Challenge

Kel Lake Garden Centre had earned a loyal following through decades of exceptional customer service, expert advice, and a genuine passion for gardening. While the in-store experience felt welcoming and inspiring, their previous WordPress website no longer reflected the energy or personality of the business.

Making updates had become frustrating and time-consuming, often requiring outside support for even the smallest changes. The website also lacked the warmth and visual appeal that customers experienced when visiting the garden centre.

The goal was to create a website that was not only easier to manage, but one that celebrated the business, inspired visitors, and better reflected the people behind it.

The Strategy

Rather than simply replacing the existing website, we focused on creating a digital experience that felt as inviting as walking through the garden centre itself.

The information architecture was simplified, navigation became more intuitive, and the visual direction was refreshed to complement Kel Lake's existing personality. Alongside the new Squarespace website, the project included a brand refresh that introduced a more cohesive visual identity while remaining true to the business's longstanding reputation and community roots.

Most importantly, the new website empowers the Kel Lake team to confidently manage and update their own content without relying on outside support.
